It never fails to amaze me how many FE agents sign up with a company but haven’t compared the commission level they are signing up for. Would you EVER buy a car without asking the price? (If your answer is yes just stop reading now. I don’t think I could help you.)
Don’t fall for the “oh we give street-level commissions” double talk. That means nothing. Street level at one agency can be 80% and 120% on the exact same product at a different agency. And do you know what you get for giving them 40% of YOUR commission? Usually extra dead weight middle-men. Nice guys? sure. But nice enough that you want to give them hundreds of your dollars every week? Nope!
The only thing you want to see are the numbers. If an agency starts yanking you around with no numbers in writing prior to you signing anything…RUN!
