NO! NO! NO! Independent agents should NEVER assign commissions. You should be paid DIRECTLY from the insurance companies you sell, NOT from your upline.
This is a HUGE red flag if you are paid by your upline manager or agency.
If you are paid by the insurance company, your sales and renewals belong to YOU. If you are paid by the agency, your sales belong to them. Once you leave, you will NEVER get your renewals.
The ONLY exception to this is if you have a SWEET spot in a bank, credit union, funeral home or similar position where the business is driving your sales to YOU. In those cases, the business SHOULD belong to the agency. You are making sales that you would never make as an independent agent. You will generally have to take lower % AND assign commissions in these cases. But if that is the case, you should have NO marketing costs at all.
An independent agent who buys his own leads and has to generate his own sales should NOT assign commissions to anyone else.
Needless to say, all agents contracted through fexcontracting.com are paid directly from the insurance companies. We are never in the middle between YOU and your money.
